Animals are natural resources that people have wasted all through our history. Animals have been killed for their fur and feathers, for food, for sport, and simply because they were in the way. Why should people care? Because we need animals, and because once they are gone, there will never be any more.Animals are more than just beautiful or interesting. They are more than just a source of food. Every animal has its place in the balance of nature. Destroying one kind of animal can create many problems. For example, when farmers killed large numbers of hawks, the farmers' stores of corn and grain were destroyed by rats and mice. Why? Luckily, some people are working to help save the animals. Some groups raise money to let people know about the problem. And they try to get the governments to pass laws protecting animals in danger. 母亲住在交通不便的生产队，我几次要接她到场部居住，她都说什么也不肯。我知道，她是舍不下每年采山菜和养牛的那笔收入。我和哥哥轮番劝说母亲，自己有退休金，吃不完用不尽的，再说也辛苦一辈子了，奔七十的人了，干嘛非挣那几个辛苦钱呢！可是母亲对我们的话充耳不闻，依然我行我素。没办法，我们兄弟几个也只好由她了。

因为工作和交通的关系，一年之内我只能回家几次看望母亲。所以每次回去母亲都张家长李家短的和我聊个没完，直到我打起了嗑睡，母亲才想起铺被睡觉。可这一次回家，才吃过晚饭母亲就关起了门，神秘兮兮的说要给我看点东西，然后从柜子里拿出了一个小纸包，里三层外三层的打开，里面竟是存折。“给我看这个干啥。”我不解的问？“妈是想让你知道，妈有钱了。”我不禁笑了起来：“就你那两个打踢不倒的钱还叫钱哪。”母亲象没听到我的话一样，接着说：“儿呀，妈知道你委屈，没上上大学是妈没供到，前些日子妈看电视现在上大学不卡岁数了，六十岁多岁的老头也可以上呢！所以我就寻思，只要你想上，妈还供你，妈欠你的……要是上上大学也不会窝在农场里。”母亲的一番话说得我眼泪都快下来了。十年前，我高考只差几分落了榜，原本打算去补习，可家里的承包地连年亏损，母亲一个人也伺弄不过来，还有大哥结婚也需要钱。我实在不忍心母亲为我们苦劳苦作，便回家帮助母亲料理承包地。刚回家时我的心情糟透了，只是默默的干活，几天也不和母亲说一句话。母亲可能也是因为焦燥，牵牛时没小心，被牛踩了脚，脚面子肿得老高，根本穿不上鞋。我看不下下去，劝她休息几天。她只是摇摇头：“节气不等人哪。”母亲就这样趿拉着鞋，一瘸一拐的和我一起下地拔大草。九月的太阳威炎逼人，空气仿佛划根火柴就能点着一样。母亲穿一件蛋青的衬衫，后背上的汗水溻过的地方析出一道道盐渍……母亲的脚实在撑不住她竟跪在地上……我的泪只是默默的往肚里流。我分担不了母亲心里和身体上的痛！

一开始我还雄心勃勃的想自己挣够学费再去上大学，可是半年后，我做了生产队的农业技术员以后母亲就反对我再去考大学，她劝我现实一点，再加上我每月只有百十元的工资，等攒够了补习费和上大学的学费，已过考大学的年龄，所以那个梦成了永久的遗憾。也许我读了大学生活展示给我的会是另外一幅画卷。但是这么多年的拚打我的心早已归于平静，甚至认为这些坷坎本来就是我该承受的，也许正是这此坷坎才让我的生命里有了一些内容，才让在往事的回想中有了几分自豪。失去的终究是失去了，时光不会倒流，生活也不会重来，何况我已经有了妻女，我也真正的理解了父母的心，并为父母的心而感动。据说在非洲的海域里有一种马哈鱼，它的孩子出生最先得到的食物是母亲的肉体。在自己刚出生的孩子撕咬吸吮自己的肉体时，马哈鱼只是痛苦的翻腾，从不作丝毫的反抗。这就是母性，天下母亲共有的牺牲精神。

母亲现在一身的毛病，（尤其是腰尖盘突出，让她承受了许多的痛触，但她从来不在我们面前提起和表现出丝毫的难过，每次给我们打电话也都是报平安。）那都是年轻时出过了力找来的后帐。让我记记忆最深刻的是母亲经常下了班经常去地里背麦秸和豆秸，那时连队有专门的马车给职工拉柴禾，但母亲是舍不下那几元钱。有的时候我也跟着去，但回来时我都是坐在母亲背着的豆秸之上的。现在想起来真为小的时候不懂事而懊丧。母亲把她所有能给我们的都给了我们，虽然在她力所不能及的时候留下了一点遗憾，但却耿耿于怀，自责不已。这时候我也明白了母亲这多年拚命挣钱的原因了。母亲的心是天底下最慈爱、最辛苦、最沉重的心了……

母亲的歉疚让我更加了感到不安，如果我们能够更加接近我们的生活目标和人生目标，那么母亲的心也许会轻松一些快乐一些。我真的为自己感到惭愧了，这会让我更加努力的，为自己，也为身后母亲的歉疚。
