关键词:新课程理念;高考;学生
一、设计背景
笔者连续两届参加安徽省高考英语的网上评阅工作,两次的阅卷经历及笔者十几年的教学经验,深深感到高中生英语书面表达语言方面的欠缺,而错误来源是多方面的。在众多的影响因素里,受到汉语的负迁移,学生写下很多Chinese Einglish的句子。
笔者在阅卷时关注了一下学生的错误点,其中,受母语负迁移的影响主要体现在下面两句:(1)If I by bike/bus to school...(2)when they across the street...其实,将词性万能化是初、高中学生学习语言的通病。学生在用目标语输出时,首先在脑海里用汉语构思,然后按照汉语的语言逻辑,用英语单词堆砌,于是产生了上述错误的句子。
二、教学内容分析
笔者所在地区使用的是人教版高中英语教材,第一模块第三单元以travel为主题,使学生通过travel了解文中王坤、王微所去国家或地区的风土人情,地理地貌及气候特征。让学生体会英语作为工具给他们带来的乐趣。Warming-up让学生想象去旅游并选择一个地方为题,讨论所需费用,并决定四种交通方式,使学生了解旅行前的准备及计划。
三、教材整合
笔者对此部分教学内容进行了删除与增加。删去了warming up的第二部分内容,加入了一个写作,整合一个课时。写作的重点输出句型为:go to someplace by bike 或ride a bike/take a bus....
四、教学过程
充足有效的语言输入是培养扎实语言基本功的基础,输入的信息必须经过任务活动的加工处理才能够固化成自己的能力,最终在需要的时候正确、准确地提取。这就要求教师在一定的时间内以完成具体的语言学习任务为目标来组织教学。同时,教师要和学生之间交流、合作、互动、探讨。但输入与输出之间不是画等号的。学生必须处理获取的信息并有效吸收,才能有高质量的输出。吸收是打造语言基本功的重要环节,教师可以以新引旧,以复习促贮存。吸收后,学生才能在头脑里建立自己的“语言库”,并能招之即来,挥之即去。因此,语言的内化环节必不可少,并在教学活动中实现。
笔者首先利用第二单元的话题English around the world及两个数字(它们分别是中国学英语的人数和北京一位高一学生从小学到初中学英语的花费)激发学生的头脑风暴,提出问题Why should we learn English?学生你一言我一语,最后笔者点出本单元的话题――travel。
在presentation环节里,笔者设计了三个问题:Where?How?Which?
1.Where?大千世界,到处都是名川、秀水、古迹,那么老师应该去哪旅游呢?我先让学生给我出主意。然后,利用图片展示国内外的名胜。与此同时,我刻意引导学生描述这些地区的特色和景色,为后面写的输出作铺垫。在众多的旅游景点里,确定了一个目的地――the Big Ben in London。
2.How?要去旅游,选好地方后,接着就得考虑交通工具means of transportation的问题。于是,我设计了第二问:how?这是本节课的重点与难点之一,即复习旧知识go to someplace by bike 和 ride a bike.在进行这部分教学时,我不断地重复这些短语,并在黑板上板书。因为不同的学生记忆能力是不一样的,记忆能力强的学生可能会记住,而能力稍弱的学生可能就吃力了。同时,整节课的最终成果是写作,所以语言一定要准确。
3.Which?面对繁多的交通工具,老师该如何抉择呢?我提出第三个问题:which?即该怎么去London?并选出四个交通工具让学生讨论,分别说出它们的利与弊。最后,每组请一个reporter汇报讨论结果,帮我做出决定。
输出是检验,巩固和增强语言基本功的主渠道。语言的输入和输出应该相对平衡,而我们面临的问题是,外语学习者的语言输出远远低于语言输入。因此,应该在外语教学中为学生创造尽可能多的语言输出环境。
笔者首先把所在地的五处旅游景点展现在PPT上,然后,设置一个情境:设想笔者的外教老师住在本县的法姬娜酒店,他只有一天时间,不知道该看哪处名胜。让学生分成五组进行讨论,并用到:You can go there by bus和 take a bus等句型和短语。目前全国各省市高考对考生英语的要求之一就是写作,然而口头输出。如果不能结合写作,对学生写作中语言的正确性难以起到监控和纠正的作用。所以,笔者最后让学生把口头输出的内容转化成文字――写一封信给笔者的老师Tim,建议他应该去哪儿看看,为什么,及路线。作文的内容其实就涵盖了本节课笔者所有的输入内容。
五、结论
笔者本次执教的班级共57人,共有3位学生没能正确地掌握go to someplace by bus 和take a bus结构。具体的语言错误归纳如下:
1.You can go there by a bike.
2.You can go there by a bus or cab.
3.Yon can by bike.
笔者后来找到这三位同学询问,是不是粗心导致,回答全部否定。为了验证本堂课的效果,笔者执教的另一班级没有进行如上的课堂教学,只是让学生按照上述要求写一封信。对照班总共45人,共有14位同学出现了by bike等介词短语当动词用的现象。
