i wanna welcome everybody here in this cheer team. thank you for coming here this morning to stand on my side cheering me on. it’s my dream to have the opportunity to challenge all the foreign athletes to the championship at this great occasion: XX年 olympic games. now, the dream came true. as an athlete of china, i’m here to win the gold medal of orienteering for our motherland.

i’m so proud of being one of the best players in the world. but could you believe i had been a lazy girl when i was in junior high. i’m not kidding! at that time, running was my last favorite. i really don’t know how to describe the first time i was on the track. it was horrible. when i started to run, i was simply out of breath. and while i touched the finishing line, i really didn’t know if i was still alive. it’s so funny, huh? but it’s true, i did.

well, something happened and changed the situation. we won the right of holding the olympic games in 2009. after that, sports became a kind of game in campus. and there are many sports clubs in school. one day someone asked me:“are you gonna try one of those?”first i felt so wired.

“try to get into sports clubs? are you kidding?” i said. and she goes: “why not?? it’s not hard at all, and so fascinating!” so i did tried one and i was so lucky to become one of those who did orienteering. that is a fantastic sport! you need to run and find where to go just by using a map and a compass. it’s wasn’t popular in china at first. but when we heard it might become a new event in 2009, we did practiced hard, and aimed to win the first champion of orienteering in the world. when we practiced, there were a lot of troubles. you know, sometimes you need to go with your feet, but sometimes you need to go with your heart. in some situations, we faced the difficulties and problems. and we need to solve that through teamwork and strong willpower. so we can run faster, go higher and be stronger. that is what we say—olympic spirit.

now the dream came true. i’m standing here with all my body and my heart put in sports. so do the people from all over the world to here at the olympic games. it’s the olympic games that make us together. we are here for a big day of sport; we are here for a dream of sports. we are here for a spirit of sport that encourages us to face the difficulties of today and tomorrow.

as students, we could share more time with our friends. the friendship in our young hearts is pure, fresh and simple. i often feel very lucky to have a lot of good friends. especially when i had justin as one of my best friends. justin was my english teacher from the usa. i met him in 1996 when i was a student who could only speak very little english. justin was a vivid young man with a bright smile on his face, and he always had his special way to make the class active and attractive. he taught us english by telling stories, playing games, singing songs, and even dancing. i could still remember very clearly that one afternoon when we fin-ished our class, we went to some other classes to sing songs for them, just like what people do in the states on christmas eve. it was so interesting and unforgettable. justin was an excellent teacher, because he taught us not only how to study english well, but also the way to find out the beauty of the world and the way to be angels to others' lives. i know there was friendship and pure love in our hearts. facing this valuable emotion neither nationality nor age was important, the real importance lay in faith, under-standing, and care. justin is the best friend i have ever had, and i know i will cherish those days of staying together with him as the best part of my memory.

friendship is a kind of treasure in our lives. it is actually like a bottle of wine, the longer it is kept, the sweeter it will be. it is also like a cup of tea. when we are thirsty, it will be our best choice, but when we have enough time to enjoy ourselves, it is also the most fragrant drink.

在素质教育日趋显示其重要性的21世纪,在英语成为世界通用语的大环境下,英语演讲能力已逐渐成为现代人的必备素质之一。对于高校大学生来说,英语演讲不仅能提高他们的口头表达能力,而且能训练其写及中英文思维转换能力,并且能够真正有效地提高其英语学习的热情与能力。

为了使广大英语演讲爱好者在英语演讲上有更进一步的发展,并使得他们能在演讲中脱颖而出,本文对英语命题演讲进行了探究。本文将把英语命题演讲与心理学上的“首因效应”理论相结合,通过活动和试验的途径从一个全新的角度诠释不同方式的英语命题演讲开头对演讲所起的不同效果,从而整理并提出有效的适用英语命题演讲的方法。

2.首因效应理论概述

在心理学中,首因效应也叫“第一印象”效应。第一印象,就是在短时间内以片面的资料为依据形成的印象,心理学研究发现,与一个人初次会面,45秒钟内就能产生第一印象。这一最先的印象对他人的社会知觉产生较强的影响,同时在对方的头脑中形成并占据着主导地位。试验心理学研究表明,外界信息输入大脑时的顺序,在决定认知效果的作用上是不容忽视的。最先输入的信息作用最大,最后输入的信息也起较大作用。大脑处理信息的这种特点是形成首因效应的内在原因。

4.首因效应理论活动与试验结果分析

4.1 英语命题演讲开头方式

在各类演讲图书及相关研究中,关于给人留下第一印象的英语演讲方法探究,大多只是零星点缀,没有系统化。所以,我们试图以心理学理论为指导,从一个全新的角度对首因效应在英语命题演讲中的应用进行一次深入的探究。通过对几百篇名家和大中学生英语演讲词,以及本活动组开展的一次英语命题演讲比赛的归纳分析,我们总结出以下若干方法:自我牺牲法、初设悬疑法、反复强调法、以彼为傲法、幽默风趣法、排比铺陈法等。

4.2 试验分析

此次试验目的在于进一步证实上节所述方法的在具体实践中的作用,是我们将心理学首因效应理论与英语命题演讲相结合的试验。试验主要从六种最具有代表性的演讲开头方式来探讨与研究“首因效应”对英语命题演讲的影响,即“自我牺牲”法、初设悬疑法、反复强调法、以彼为傲法、幽默风趣法、排比铺陈法等。

试验以一位演讲者就单一演讲主题,在语调及着装等皆不变的情况下,依次对这六份不同开头方式的演讲稿进行演讲。演讲结束后,由2名外籍评委及24名大众评委对演讲者以不同开头方式所进行的演讲进行投票及评析。试验投票结果分析如下表:

(注:(1)自我牺牲法:通过在演讲开头讲述一些关于自己的小秘密或小故事,从而引起听众的兴趣;

(2)以彼为傲法:指在演讲开头赞美听众或以听众的骄傲作为自己的骄傲,继而赢得好感;

(3)受欢迎比率以前三名投票占总票数的百分比计算,保留一位小数。)

综上表所述,在精选的六种开头方式中,能在听众中留下第一印象最深的是幽默风趣法,受欢迎程度比率为83.3%;第二是初设悬疑法,受欢迎程度比率为75%;排名第三的是自我牺牲法,受欢迎程度比率为58%;第四是排比铺陈法,受欢迎程度比率为48%;排名最后两位的是以彼为傲法和反复强调法,受欢迎程度比率分别为20.8%和12.5%。

根据受欢迎程度比率和首因效应理论,在英语命题演讲中,演讲者应首选幽默风趣法开头首先给听众一个风趣的印象,其次是使用排名其后的各种开头方法。虽然排名靠后的方法受欢迎程度低,但是同样具有其自身的特点和实用价值,每种方法都有其可取之处。

5.结语

本文首次将心理学首因效应理论与英语命题演讲结合起来,通过对活动和试验结果及数据的分析,把英语命题演讲开头的受欢迎程度量化,增加了各种方法在实践中的可对比性和可操作性。

但无论掌握和使用哪种开头方式,首先都需要演讲者以扎实的英语基本功为基础,进行命题演讲以前进行大量的练习,其次演讲开篇有要始终体现开篇目的,即揭示演讲主题,抓住听众注意力和兴趣,建立与听众的良好关系。由于本实验小组水平有限,在研究中出现了不少不足之处,如试验组织不合理、研究方向比较狭窄等问题。

英语作为一种交际工具， 其中“说”的作用在交际上显得尤为重要。学生中相当一部分是由于英语成绩不好而影响学习成绩。在英语课堂上表现得消极，不愿开口说英语，影响进行正常的课堂活动。如果不想办法改变这种状态，英语课堂教学就成了“一言堂”，枯燥乏味，就会直接影响教学效果。针对这种状况，教师应从学生的实际出发，着重从以下几方面培养学生开口说英语的良好习惯，建立学好英语的信心。

一、“听”与“说”相结合的训练使学生能开口说英语。

（1） 培养“说”的能力。从听入手, 先听后说。英语课上教师要全英语授课，更要示范性的多说英语。还可以利用中午学生活动时间10-15分中，播放适合初中学生听的英语，也可以在班会课让学生观看全英文的电影。但让学生“听”之前, 教师一定要对较难的听力摘要内容。学生在广泛听的基础上, 在语言的接触中吸取大量积极而有用的词汇。通过这种长久“听”“说”结合的强化训练, 使学生能开口说英语。

（2）重视朗诵和背诵。朗读和背诵使学生开口说英语的有效途径。任何一种语言口语能力的形成都离不开语言材料大量有效的输入与积累。通过朗读和背诵，可以在脑子里储存大量有用的词汇、短语、习惯用法；通过朗读和背诵，可以了解英语国家的生活、风俗习惯、人文、历史、地理知识等。读得多了，背得多了，自然就形成了英语语感。语感一旦形成中学英语教学论文，好多句子就会脱口而出，头表达能力也会随之提高。

二、立足课堂训练强化学生开口说英语。

(1)“值日报告”和“师生会话”来激发学生开口说英语。每节英语课教师利用几分钟时间要求学生用英语演讲、对话或用英语讲小故事，甚至是唱英语歌曲，形式通常是由学生自己决定，时间通常为3-5分钟。 这种“值日报告”可以营造学习英语的氛围，同时也可以活跃课堂气氛。然后对于“值日报告”中所涉及的见闻，谈论的人物，爱好、景色等进行师生会话，一般先安排英语口语较好的学生，给其他学生做个榜样。对于稍差的学生，教师要有意识地降低会话的难度，消除学生畏难情绪，让每个学生在课堂能展现自己，有所收获。

（2）组织口头练习为主的课堂活动加强学生开口说英语。例如，在学习《义务教育课程标准实验教课书（新目标）》八年级上册第六单元“How do you make abanana milk shake ?”一课时，教师可以先在屏幕上出现各种水果。先请一名英语学习较弱的学生说出水果的英文名称，其他学生听写所提到的英语单词。然后，请英语学习较好的学生分别用课文中学过的单词联词成句。最后，请英语成绩好的学生看图复述这种食物的制做步骤。通过这种层层深入的训练，因人而宜，循序渐进地提高要求，调动了全体学生积极参加课堂活动同时也加强了学生说英语的积极性。

（3）模仿和复述课文中的部分段落也是训练学生开口说英语的重要形式。如《义务教育课程标准实验教课书（新目标）》八年级上册第六单元，有个关于人物外貌，兴趣等特征的描写。教师可以要求学生模仿这一段来描述身边所熟悉的喜欢的家人或朋友。初中的学生对这种训练很感兴趣，乐于开口用英语来表达。教师也可以要求学生用不同的人称、时态来复述所学的内容。老师可以按着故事的情节为线索，把重点词、句写在黑板上，或以时间顺序引导学生复述。教师也可以用简笔画，边画边引导学生复述课文，避免学生死记硬背，有效帮助学生理解记忆，更有利于增强学生的开口说英语的能力。
