Words like inpiduality and creativity are getting more emphasis and more people are rewarded for their hard work and efforts. Such is the era in which this generation ，grows and matures.

Such is the era in which this generation will take over the nation from our fathers and learn to run it. Yet in the meantime， many problems still exist.

We learn that crimes take place in broad daylight with crowds of people looking on and not assisting. We hear that there are still about 1 million children in this country who can't even afford to go to elementary schools while enormous sums of money are being squandered away on dinner parties and luxury cars.

We buy shoddy medicines， or merely worthlejunk in the name of medicines， that aggravate， rather than alleviate our diseases since money， many people believe， is the most important thing in the world that must be made， even at the expense of morality and responsibility.

Such an era， therefore， determines that we are a generation with a keener sense of competition and efficiency and a greater readineto think critically and act creatively.

My hometown is Dalian， and my university is in Shenyang. The changes that are taking place in both cosmopolitans are breathtaking. International conglomerates， BMW， G.E. are hiring the finest of the younger generation， while Starbucks， Haagen-Dazs， and McDonald’s are competing aggressively with local brands. As we immerse ourselves so happily in the international convenience， traditional brands and ways of life are withering in the jungle law of the commercial society. One lifestyle and another lifestyle does not always mean two lifestyles will simultaneously survive.

When foreigners come to China and see the same image of streets as in their own country， they feel more baffled than excited. YES， globalization brings international consumer goods and services， yet， such convenience shouldn’t be at the price of losing the Chinese ingredient in the recipe of global persity. And when Starbucks opened a shop in the Forbidden City in Beijing， the emperor turned over in his grave.

It is， without a shadow of a doubt， the job of the younger generation to make sure things will only be better off for China and the world. With a leap of faith， I came to a decision half a year ago. So， I set my mind on overseas education. Such a decision was not to pursue a blind pilgrimage of Western culture， but to provide my self a new perspective， a catalyst for personal growth as I integrate wisdom and experience of both worlds to become truly international. As I celebrate Chinese culture with the rest of the world， one education AND one education trigger development that can’t be measured with a number， two.

The world is evolving. The only thing not changing is change itself. Yet however fast the world changes， the essence remains the same. It is our responsibility， NO， our obligation as young people， (which ever country we’re from，) to make sure that when worlds come together， our respective characteristics are kept while new traditions are formed in the process. Hand in hand， I’m more than confident that we CAN offer future generations a world of unprecedented harmony and persity.

in my 18 years of life, there have been many things. university days are the best part of them. i can never forget the days when i stepped into my university. i was impressed by its garden-like campus, its enthusiastic students and especially its learning atmosphere. i at once fell in love with it.

after the arduous military training, i get absolutely absorbed in my studies. the classes given by the teachers are excellent. they provide us with information not only from our textbooks but from many other sources as well. they easily arouse my insatiable desire to take in as much as i can.

frankly speaking, at first i had some difficulty following the teachers. however, through my own efforts and thanks to my teachers' guidance, i made remarkable progress. now i've benefited a lot from lectures and many other academic reports.

learning is a long process; i'll keep exploring in the treasure house of knowledge to enrich myself. this summer i got out of the ivory tower and entered the real world. a publishing house offered me a part-time job in compilation and revision.

at the beginning i was belittled by my colleagues. but they were really surprised when i translated seven english articles over 5,000 words on only one day. gradually, they began to look at me with respectful eyes. in their opinion i turned out to be a useful and trustworthy colleague.

i also realize that only those who bring happiness for others can be truly happy. so i often take part in activities concerning public welfare. i once went to a barren mountain village with my classmates. we taught the kids there who could not afford school. while showing them how broad and how civilized the outer world is, i was deeply touched by their eagerness to learn, their honesty and their purity. i couldn't control my tears on the day when we left. the precious experience with the poor kids made me aware of the responsibility on the shoulders of us, future teachers.

besides study and social practice, there are entertainments as well. i do body building every day, hoping to keep healthy and energetic. we also write a play and put it on in our spare time.

campus life is the most splendid time. but different people have different choices. the majority of students cherish their beautiful season and cherish the hope that one day they'll become outstanding. but there are indeed some students still under ignorance. they gather together for eating, drinking or playing cards. they're busy in searching for a girlfriend or a boyfriend. they forget completely about their mission as college students and the hope of their motherland.

as students, we could share more time with our friends. the friendship in our young hearts is pure, fresh and simple. i often feel very lucky to have a lot of good friends. especially when i had justin as one of my best friends. justin was my english teacher from the usa. i met him in 1996 when i was a student who could only speak very little english. justin was a vivid young man with a bright smile on his face, and he always had his special way to make the class active and attractive. he taught us english by telling stories, playing games, singing songs, and even dancing.

i could still remember very clearly that one afternoon when we fin-ished our class, we went to some other classes to sing songs for them, just like what people do in the states on christmas eve. it was so interesting and unforgettable. justin was an excellent teacher, because he taught us not only how to study english well, but also the way to find out the beauty of the world and the way to be angels to others' lives. i know there was friendship and pure love in our hearts. facing this valuable emotion neither nationality nor age was important, the real importance lay in faith, under-standing, and care. justin is the best friend i have ever had, and i know i will cherish those days of staying together with him as the best part of my memory.

friendship is a kind of treasure in our lives. it is actually like a bottle of wine, the longer it is kept, the sweeter it will be. it is also like a cup of tea. when we are thirsty, it will be our best choice, but when we have enough time to enjoy ourselves, it is also the most fragrant drink.

however, in this fast-developing modern society, the reality is not that. more and more people forget to enjoy the beauty of life and -the beauty of friendship. they work hard in order to gain a higher position, in the society and to earn more money for their work. of course, we don't deny that it is important to find a bet-ter place in our lives, but we wish more and more people could pay a little more attention to themselves and their friends. all of us have to spare some time for personal lives. we have to find the chance to express our emotion and love. when staying with our friends, we can release ourselves completely. we can do whatever we want, we can laugh together, talk together, and even cry to-gether. i should say that being together with our best friends is the most wonderful moment of our lives.

前言

随着经济全球化的转变，使得我国对外语人才需求不断扩大，其中尤其需要英语人才。因此，在培养社会未来人才的大学教育机构中，增强学生英语口语运用能力尤为重要，其可有效帮助学生在未来发展中发掘更多符合社会发展需求的优势。但如何在大学英语口语教学中实行英语演讲教学实训，仍是当下大学英语口语教师面临的重要问题，本文通过以下几点对此进行简单分析。

一、增强学生英语演讲表达技能意识

在英语演讲实行过程中，教师作为课堂教学的引导者对课堂教学效率与效果起到决定性作用。故此在英语口语教学过程中，教师应积极向学生传输更多英语演讲表达技巧、理论知识等相关知识，以不断增强学生在英语演讲实训中注重表达技能的意识。教师可通过多媒体教学设备，向学生展示一些经典的英语歌剧、演讲视频、诗歌朗诵等表达方式与思想感情相互融合的表演录像，从而充分激发学生学习英语口语的兴趣，调动其学习积极性。在课堂上，教师可让学生对表演录像内容进行讨论交流，并让其指出自己认为表演录像中的演讲突出点和亮点，以引导学生不断注重英语演讲的口语发音问题和思想感情问题，使其逐渐获得逻辑性较强的英语演讲思想结构和标准化的英语演讲表达方式。另外，教师在开展英语演讲实训过程中，还应积极营造良好的演讲气氛，运用恰到好处的细微动作和表情，来表现演讲内容的主旨与思想感情，从而避免单一、刻板的演讲练习使学生丧失学习英语演讲的兴趣和热情。通过学习表演录像的专业演讲方式与技巧，以及亲身参与英语演讲实践，从而可使学生的英语演讲表达技巧逐渐丰富和多样化起来。

the cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. but again, the cynics are wrong. we care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer. as college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. we all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. i believe in all my fellow classmates. though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. i believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities. we are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place. i believe in our future.

An Unforgettable Challenge

When I was ten years old, I began to chat with foreigners. But I was very shy. Gradually, I became more and more confident with foreigners’ help. This wasn’t only a big challenge but also an unforgettable challenge. This opportunity made me confident and brave. I hope I can catch many opportunities in the future, then I can speak English, because I think practice makes perfect.

一、大学生英语演讲能力拓展训练的目的和意义

全球化的快速发展，我们全面步入知识经济时代，英语演讲越来越被人们所重视。因为演讲可以培养交际过程中的各种语言运用能力，如逻辑与创造思维、论据收集、分析、合成、组织构架、快速反应、心理素质、自信心的培养、文化素养、对培养具有过硬语言能力、胜任多种语境的复合性人才有着很大的潜势。

近年来为了推进我国大学英语教学改革，以“CCTV 杯”全国大学生英语演讲大赛为最权威，全国许多大专院校纷纷举办了各类大学生英语演讲活动与比赛，已成为我国影响最大、范围最广、代表我国当代大学生最高英语水平，具有国际影响力的权威赛事。本项目《大学生英语演讲能力拓展训练与创新的方法研究》对大学生英语演讲能力进行存在的问题深入调查研究，研究结果，大学生英语演讲能力的拓展训练方法手册，将对大学英语教育思想和目标的正确发展提供有价值的参考，更是推动大学英语听说教学向纵深发展，使英语演讲教学与实践成为培养和提高我国大学生读、写、听、说的英语综合应用能力行之有效的途径。

二、大学生的英语演讲能力的现状

（一）心理素质不佳

在当代大学生中，用母语在公众场合发表观点已属不易，何况是用外语去表达自己的思想观点并与观众互动。目前大学生存在一下这些心理素质问题：演讲者在创作的心理素质上较差，没有很好的运用联想与想象来创作，以至于演讲稿缺乏逻辑性，不够生动有吸引力。演讲者在表达的心理素质上体现的问题。许多学生由于演讲的经验不足，加上对自己英语水平缺乏自信心，在演讲比赛之前就坐立不安。很多同学赛前已准备充分，但一到最后关头，头脑一片空白，这便是心理素质差的一大表现。因为这些，演讲者一直处于心理紧张状态，导致演讲创作稿不成功，练习演讲时会想到自己登台时的紧张，以至于练习不到位，最终导致演讲不成功。

（二）英语知识储备过少

2006年10月14 第五届“CCTV杯”全国英语演讲大赛担任评委的十余名英语教学专家认为，高校参赛大学生整体英语演讲水平较高，但知识面和综合素质却仍有待提高。在即兴演讲时，不少大学生分析问题不够深入，很多学生仅仅是在就事论事，缺乏个人观点，这暴露了当前大学生们，在知识面和综合素质方面的不足，在现场问答环节，居然有选手连欧元都不知道。在高水平英语演讲中，英语发音反倒不是影响演讲水准的因素，知识面窄成了我国大学生普遍的弱点，在对我院大学生知识获取途径的调查中，67.13%的学生主要阅读的是教科书和考试书籍，许多学生只学习本专业知识而无心旁顾社会、历史、哲学封学科知识，甚至不看报刊杂志，更不要说英语报刊杂志了。狭窄的知识面导致演讲内容匮乏，引用的事例都比较陈旧，不能引人入胜，在英语演讲时尤其体现在对论题的分析和切入思考不够。而这一“短板”也严重影响到我国大学生演讲能力。因此在大学生英语演讲能力拓展提升中，拓宽当代大学生知识面刻不容缓。

（三）演讲的训练和锻炼的缺乏

随着经济全球化的发展，外语教学的不断改进，英语学科变得越来越重要，当然，英语演讲方面的比赛也是多之有多。这也就不难发现一个问题，有诸多选手多年连续参加比赛，虽然这并不违反比赛规则，且作为高校，当然有自己的理由推选这样的选手参加比赛。然而，这无疑从侧面反映了许多问题，学校缺乏具备演讲才能的选手，后备力量不足，忽略了对其他学生在演讲方面的培养，而只针对部分有经验的学生进行培训，从而违背了举办演讲比赛的初衷。学校缺乏对学生的训练在演讲方面固然是个缺陷，但除此之外，关于提高演讲能力的报告会也是少之又少，很少有关于演讲的报告会为没有没有经验但渴望演讲的学生提供经验指导及专业训练，相关于此的书籍和视频种类也并不全面，无法满足所有学生的需求。无论是即兴演讲还是非即兴演讲，对大学生在演讲方面的训练和培养是不可缺少的，它与大学生的英语综合能力，心理素质，知识面，思辨能力是相辅相成的，故应给予更多的重视。

（四）英语的综合基础薄弱

英语演讲能力并非是简单的口语会话能力，而是一种综合了语言知识技能、临场应变能力、恰当表达能力等各种要求的综合能力与素质。而对于当代大学生来说，相对于其他诸如心理素质、思辨能力等，这种综合能力中的知识储备方面往往是其较大的短板。首先，针对于非母语专业的学生来说，英语作为第二语言，在生活中的应用注定无法像母语一样广泛，缺少了所需要的语言环境，即使是在词汇量上可以达到较高的水平，也会因为缺少实际应用而是表达停留在一个比较基础的层次。同样，由于身边没有一个英语环境，对于语音的影响也是十分巨大的，大学生们往往只能根据老师、录音、视频等方式被动的接受英语的语音，真正与使用英语为第一语言的人的交流机会十分缺少，这也造成了口语水平的薄弱。归根结底是在日常的生活中真正的英语“输入”太少，这才是直接导致“输出”有问题的主要原因。其次，大学生所接触的英语在词汇上往往是比较通用的标准意义，对引申义、俚语等的了解较少，这会使得在进行英语交流、演讲时，虽然用词用句十分标准却不地道，缺少一种亲和感。再次便是对英语国家的文化背景的了解。每个国家、地区都有自己的独特文化、习俗、传统等，就如同说话的口音一般，对于大学生来说了解这些文化背景的机会太少，对它的关注也十分有限，往往被人们所忽视。试问如果对这些文化都不甚了解，又如何能够做出符合英式或者美式思维的英语演讲呢？

（五）思辨能力的不足

思辨能力就是思考辨析能力。所谓思考指的是分析、推理、判断等思维活动；所谓辨析指的是对事物的情况、类别、事理等的辨别分析。思辨能力首先是一种抽象思维能力。简要地说，层次分明、条理清楚的分析，清楚准确、明白有力的说理，就是思辨能力的主要特征。成功的英语演讲需要演讲者对主题有深刻的认识与理解， 是否能准确的的将自己的想法清晰地传递给听众；同时要有明确的思路与条理，做到主次分明详略得当；根据相关资料，选取合理科学的论证结合自身的理解，对主题进行剖析、拓展，有条理、有层次、有中心、有重点并连贯的表明自己的观点；做到从不同角度有深度有广度的对问题进行分析与总结。

对于大部分语言类学生的学生来说，英语演讲往往存在以下几个问题：首先在使用英语演讲时均会不同程度的受到母语或其他语种的影响而不能准确的表达出自己的想法，从而不能将思辨能力发挥到最好。其次，大部分学生的想象能力较强，比较善于人文类思辨模式，而分析概括能力较弱，因此在表达上善于叙事而非说理议论。虽然外语专业学生的记忆力受到了锻炼，但其逻辑思维能力和思辨能力却无形中被削弱了；同时，学生无暇顾及对其他方面知识的吸收，以至于外语学习者普遍知识面窄、思考能力差，无法从多种知识中的交融中，产生创造性思维。

三、大学生英语演讲能力拓展训练方法

（一）提高学生心理素质

1.提高演讲者创作上的心理素质

在演讲创作中需要形象思维和逻辑思想，联想与想象。在演讲创作中逻辑思维占主导地位，演讲创作者要通过自己的创作说明问题，最后展示给人们一个抽象的道理。联想和想象对创作起到了重要的作用。有了想象才会创作出丰富多彩的演讲稿。因此，想象和联想会让我们的演讲创作得到升华。

2.提高演讲者表达的心理素质

（1）鼓起勇气登台克服怯场。古罗马雄辩家西塞罗曾在一次演讲后说，”演讲一开始，我就感到自己面色苍白，四肢和整个心灵都在颤抖”。后来他成为著名的演讲家。鼓起勇气登上舞台，成功已离你不远了。

（2）从心理战术鼓励自己登上舞台，演讲者应该情绪饱满的登台演讲，因一定要想法设法在登台演讲前把自己的情绪调整到最佳状态上，以饱满的情绪登台演讲。饱满的情绪可以吸引观众，感染观众。因此，要调整好自己的状态，以积极向上，欢快饱满的情绪登台，给观众留下美好的第一印象，让听众对你的演讲充满信心。

（3）演讲者还需要提高与观众沟通的能力。演讲是一种双向交流，是由演讲者与听众互相配合的活动，所以演讲者必须学会与听众交流，并随时注意听众的反馈信息，必须根据这些反馈信息随时调整自己的演讲内容，因为听众的反应便是听众有没有听懂并被演讲者所吸引的反射，而只有适时并得体的与听众互动，你的演讲才是成功的。

（4）演讲者可以通过生活提高心理素质，演讲者应准备充分，一人出声的念讲稿，当达到流畅的如聊天一样时，再以家里人，朋友，为听众练一遍，听众的组成由熟人到不太熟，最后以完全陌生人为听众，逐渐树立信心。

（二）增加英语的知识储备

1.博学

（1）读书。除了专业类和个人兴趣类，其他类别，比如生物，电子，化学，经济，医学，心理，时事等也要广泛涉猎。先从感兴趣的书看起，最好一次性看完，再阅读下一本。阅读较之其它方法更系统，不仅增加知识面，还可以锻炼思维。

（2）网络搜索。这个时代网络发达。遇到陌生的词汇和事物，不管是任何领域的，只要稍微感兴趣，最好在第一时间去网上搜索，这样就会对其有大概了解。与此同时，搜索出来的内容中又会出现其他的知识点，再挑一些感兴趣的去了解。滴水成渠，有较长的时间积累后，你接触到的知识点，基数就会比别人大很多。

（3）百科日记。由于有些知识是难以一次性记住，建议建立“百科日记”，即把新接触又不易记的知识，挑重点记录下来，俗话好记性不如烂笔头。如果引擎搜索能帮住人们记住2%左右的知识，那么百科日记可以把这个比例提高到5%左右。

（4）思考。养成勤于思考的习惯，多问自己“为什么”。因为没有自我的思想，你有再多知识都难以运用。在即兴演讲中切记不可就事论事，一定要有自己的态度和观点，多思考有助于获得这样的能力。

2.社交

古语说“独学而无友，则孤陋而寡闻”。因此，要抱着学习的态度与人主动交往，在交谈中把各自的面重合，潜移默化的从不同人中学习，汲取各自的养分。博观而约取，厚积而薄发。扩充知识面是漫长的过程，因此要养成博学与社交的习惯，这样才能拓宽知识面，并将储备的知识适当的运用在英语演讲中。
