对于非英语专业的学生来讲，无论是在英语科目的学期考试，还是在四六级考试、考研、考博英语考试，英语写作都是必出现的题目。而在托福、雅思等考试中，英语写作也是很重要的题目。英语写作相比较其它类型的题目而言，往往更能反应考生综合应用英语的能力。对于英语作文的评分来讲，作文的内容并不是起决定因素的，如果作文内容符合主旨，逻辑合理，语法正确，语言得体，加上一些必要的修饰性的句子，那么就可以拿到一个比较理想的分数。而对于使用频率最高的议论文来说也是如此。

1.提纲式英语议论文写作的基本要求

各种应试作文虽然很多，但如果掌握了英语应试作文的思维规律，加上对英语应试作文常见文体的掌握，应试作文就会变得迎刃而解。而在观察了众多应试作文后就会发现，很多应试作文都出现了“结构化模式”。而非英语专业四六级考试、考研作文、英语专业四、八级考试到托福、雅思考试，最常见的作文类型有以下几种：应用文、议论文、说明文、记叙文。对于应用文主要是信件、便条；议论文可以分为提纲式和图表式，而这两种又是最为常见的类型。而在针对提纲式议论文的写作时，首先需要从整体上把握文章的要求。

1.1统一性

统一性是指在文章的写作过程中，对于每个段落的中心都要有一个统一的思想，那就是为了全篇文章的中心服务，而且每个段落都是围绕一个主题句而展开的。每一句话都是在文章总体中心思想下写成的，不是在中心思想之外的句子，否则就会使文章显得零散而杂乱。

1.2完整性

在统一性的基础上，文章还必须讲求完整性。文章的每个段落都有一个主题句，而主题句下面又有很多展开的分句，这些分句都是围绕主题句而展开的。在分句的写作过程中，需要和主题句的中心思想保持一致，使得文章的主题思想能够在分句的配合下而展开，给读者完整的感觉。而如果文章在主题句下没有必要的分句，那么文章就会显得不完整。

1.3连贯性

连贯性主要体现在形式的连贯和意义的连贯。形式的连贯主要是使用歇一些有连贯意义的词语，而意义连贯则是指文章要有内在的连贯性。

形式的连贯的目的主要是引起他人的注意，具体做法是在文章的句子与句子之间，段落与段落之间加上一些表示连贯的词语。具体方法有：第一，重复前面的重要词语；第二，用代词来指代上文中出现的事物；第三，使用一些表示过渡的词和句子。如表示层次的firstly、secondly等，表示列举的for instance、as a matter of fact等，表示总结的in a word、finally in simpler terms等，表示比较的in comparison with、however likewise等等。

2.提纲式议论文的写作

议论文的主要目的就是阐明道理，使某人相信某种假设。而议论文通常由两种推论方法，即归纳法和演绎法。我们在写作过程中，对于这两种方法很难有理想的效果，所以议论文一般主要出现以下几个部分。

第一，引言（introduction），这一段主要是介绍一些关于主题的背景知识，提及文章的主题，表明写作的中心句；第二，正文（body），正文是文章的主要部分，主要讨论和回答在引言中提出的问题，而语言也要符合一定的逻辑性，在正文的写作中，如果分了几段，那么每一段都要有中心句；第三，结语（concluding paragraph），第三部分主要用简洁的语言对文章进行总结，总结观点或者提出希望。议论文主要分为提纲式作文和图表式作文。所谓提纲式，就是根据题目中给出的题目和提纲，写出作者要表达的中线思想，然后围绕这一中心思想展开论述，表达提纲的主旨。

2.1原因式

提纲式论文第一种是原因式，主要要求对某种现象进行分析并解释其产生的原因。在考试中，实质简单的作文往往都看似复杂，但是经过总结，无疑是以下几点：

所以，对于原因式主要分为这几部分。

2.2分析并解决问题式

分析并解决问题式是针对某一社会现象找出解决的办法。这种形式和原因式有些相同，但是不同之处在于这一形式要求在原因后要有一定的解决方法。这种问题通常分为四部分。第一部分，引入话题，引出某种现象，表明作者的态度；第二，过渡性的语言和分析原因；第三，给出解决办法；第四，总结，倡议或者提出希望。
